Christie’s will hold on 29 June its Photographs auction, focusing on 20th and 21st century photography. Presenting over 100 lots – iconic prints by Diane Arbus, Richard Avedon, Edward Weston, Irving Penn, and Helmut Newton as well as more contemporary works from Walead Beshty, Bernd & Hilla Becher, Nick Knight, Sohei Nishino, Thomas Ruff and Mario Testino.

Two lots by Hiroshi Sugimoto and Joana Choumali will be sold to benefit The Future is Unwritten: A Healing Arts Initiative, a campaign spurred on by the mental health crisis caused by the Covid-19 pandemic. There will also be a spotlight on the work of Nick Brandt led by one of his most famous images, Elephant Drinking.
