Sergey Ponomarev:
A small boat filled with migrants come ashore after making the crossing from Turkey, near the village of Skala, on Lesbos island in Greece, Nov. 16, 2015. Mauricio Lima, Sergey Ponomarev, Tyler Hicks and Daniel Etter of The New York Times won the 2016 Pulitzer Prize for what the Pulitzer committee said were photographs that captured the resolve of refugees, the perils of their journeys and the struggle of host countries to take them in.
Dominik Butzmann:
Daniel Etter:
Laith Majid, an Iraqi refugee breaks out in tears of joy, holding his son and daughter, after they arrived safely in Kos, Greece on Aug. 15, 2015.
