Exposition Générale
forty years of international contemporary art , 600 works by over 100 artists.
Exposition Générale retraces forty years of international contemporary art through
emblematic works and fragments of exhibitions that have shaped the programming of
the Fondation Cartier pour l’art contemporain since its founding in 1984. Illustrating the
institution’s history and openness to the world, it highlights major pieces in its collection,
which has evolved over the years as a reflection of this programming, and offers visitors
the opportunity to rediscover nearly 600 works by over 100 artists.
