La servidumbre (1975-1989)
In this photographic series, produced between Spain and Panama, the domestic imaginary—historically conceived as a space of subordination—becomes a field of tensions in which hierarchies of gender, class, and coloniality operate. The frontal compositions, formal restraint, gestures, and the intensity of the gazes erode this logic: rather than fixing subaltern identities, the women portrayed assert their presence and shift the axis of power in representation.
