RENCONTRES INTERNATIONALES - PARIS/BERLIN/MADRID03.07.2012 - 08.07.2012 New Cinema And Contemporary ArtHaus der Kulturen der Welt Rencontres Internationales, which has been taking place in Paris and Berlin since 1997 and in Madrid since 2007, creates a space for discovery between new cinema and contemporary art at Haus der Kulturen der Welt for the fifth time. From July 3-8 the comprehensive program presents fictional, documentary and experimental films, videos and multimedia works from all over the world in Berlin. 150 works from Germany, France, Spain and some 40 other nations offer the visitor a unique insight into the current practice of audiovisual arts. The program, curated by Nathalie Hénon and Jean-Francois Rettig, gathers both internationally renowned artists and filmmakers and up-and-coming artists whose works are being shown for the first time, many of them presenting their works themselves. In the 2012 edition, the “Cartes Blanches“ go to Pedro Costa (Portugal) and Mark Lewis (Canada), who will each be putting together an evening of film. Christian Barani personally presents his film "My Dubai", in which he explores documentary forms and lays bare the symptoms of a globalized society..Find out more on www.art-action.org 03.07.-08.07.2012 | Tuesday 3.7. 19 h Opening with filmprogram and partyThe Haus der Kulturen der WeltJohn-Foster-Dulles-Allee 1010557 Berlininfo@hkw.deS-Bahn Hauptbahnhof (S3, S5, S7, S9, S75)U-Bahn Bundestag (U 55)Bus 100 und Bus M 85Find out more on www.hkw.deA collaboration with the Haus der Kulturen der Welt, with the support of Ville de Paris, the French Institute and otherHaus der Kulturen der Welt is supported by the Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and the Media as well as by the Federal Foreign Office.
