TEUTLOFF COLLECTION meets Sandra Vásquez de la Horra

TEUTLOFF COLLECTION meets Sandra Vásquez de la Horra at LEMPERTZ Cologne

Exhibition: 23 January – 22 February 2014
Opening: 23 January, 18:00

The drawings of Sandra Vásquez de la Horra raise questions. Photographic works from the Teutloff Collection give answers. A fascinating body-based dialogue unfolds on all facets of human existence. Kunsthaus Lempertz in Cologne offers a place of encounter for artists and collectors.

“Sandra Vásquez de la Horra’s view of the world is organic, ecstatic, excessive, ascetic, introspective and ironic. The drama of her thinking bodies is focused as a kind of history of humanity: love, hate, melancholy, war and death.” (Jean-Christophe Ammann)

“Earlier than others, the collector Lutz Teutloff developed a special sensitivity for aesthetic endeavors – particularly in the immaterial media of photography, film and video – that aim to exemplify corporeality under attack whilst also placing the manifold challenges confronting the body in a contemporary context.“ (Klaus Honnef)
