Aura Gallery was founded in 2000 by William Zhang in Shanghai. As one of the contemporary art gallerys, it specializes in Chinese contemporary art and represents a group of young artists, especially those born in 1960s-1970s, including Ji Dachun, Chen Hui, Chen Qiang, Wang Yabin, Luo Quanmu, Hong Lei, Luo Yongjin etc.
Now Aura Gallery win the reputation both from collectors and artists.
In Aug. 2002, Aura Gallery moved to the present place, a 700 square meter exhibition space in an old warehouse with a great view of the bund.
