Established in 2007, {Suite} is committed to fostering and promoting the best contemporary art from New Zealand and abroad. We provide a forum through which our artists may be exposed to national and international audiences.
{Suite} represents leading New Zealand photographers Fiona Pardington, Bruce Connew, Neil Pardington and Ans Westra. We have exhibited works by international photographers Desiree Dolron, Carlo Van de Roer and Anoek Steketee. Our stock room includes holdings of vintage and rare New Zealand photographic works by artists including Peter Peryer, Robin Morrison, Peter Black and Henry Winkelmann.
The exhibition programme is developed through {Suite} Director David Alsop and supplemented by invited curators. Born 1972 in Rotorua, New Zealand, David started collecting artworks in 1992 and had his first professional association with art dealing in 1997. From 2002 – 2007 David lived in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, and developed a passion for contemporary photography. While abroad David acquired knowledge about the international art market, and made international gallery, client, institutional and artist contacts.
{Suite} gallery and stock room is located at 69 Owen Street, Wellington and our satellite gallery is at 108 Oriental Parade, Wellington. We support the publication of books and catalogues for our artists under the monograph {Suite} Publishing. We work with a number of corporate and public clients including ANZ Bank, the New Zealand Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Christchurch Art Gallery, the Suter Art Gallery (Nelson), Wellington City Council, Pataka Museum (Porirua) and the Wallace Arts Trust (Auckland).
